My passion for the middle ages How I started
Hi!
My name is Crisiant.
I am the one who made the Monmouth Caps.
I love medieval times and enjoy participating in camps and events a lot.
It started when I was eight and was introduced to traditional archery.
Now I not only practice archery but also HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts).
A couple of years ago (2023), my father and I joined The Freemen of Gwent, a great re-enactment group.
That was amazing; I learned a lot and enjoyed the camps.
I also found the perfect combination between my passion for knitting and medieval activities.
After some research, I learnt how to make Monmouth Caps traditionally.
At events, I have a display that showcases the technique of knitting caps, yarn preparation, and more.
I am home-educated. This is part of the path to learning history and business management (by having my own and selling my creations), and having a good time.
